And the joint operations confirmed, in a statement, Al-Furat News received a copy of it, "preventing travel to and from India until further notice, and a travel ban for all tourist groups."
It indicated that "bridges linking Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa have been cut, except for two bridges." Only two wheels are allowed with the funerals, and the joint operations added, "All roads will be closed, even with the Kurdistan region, and only fuel and goods will be allowed through the ports."
And it declared, "To exempt media professionals and service members from the curfew."
On May 4, the Cabinet approved the recommendation of the Supreme Committee for Health and National Safety to impose a comprehensive curfew for a period of 10 days, starting on May 12 and ending on the 22nd of the same month.
The ban includes the decision shopping malls, restaurants and cafes closed, cafes, cinemas, parks, halls events, weddings, swimming pools , sports halls and other, as well as preventing the establishment of human populations in all forms. "
butterfly REFAATO, UNDP providing Safe Water to Iraqis.........11th May 2021.............The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq has signed an agreement with Government of Iraq's Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terroristic Operations (REFAATO) to provide residents in Ishaqi, Salah-Al Din with access to safe reliable drinking water.
Approximately $1.25 million, generously provided to REFAATO by the Islamic Development Bank, will be used to rehabilitate the Yathrib Water Treatment Plant in Salah Al-Din which was severely damaged in the conflict against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL.)
The agreement will be implemented through UNDP's Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS), which supports the return of Internally Displaced Persons from the five ISIL liberated governorates through stabilization interventions including infrastructure rehabilitation, livelihoods support, municipal support and social cohesion activities.
"Since we commenced our stabilization programming in mid-2015, UNDP has worked in tandem with ReFAATO on the challenging task of rebuilding the areas damaged by the ISIL conflict. With almost 3,000 projects completed supporting 11 million Iraqis, UNDP Iraq continues to address critical stabilization needs in vulnerable communities.
This milestone agreement charts the path to a growing partnership between UNDP Iraq and ReFAATO, and we look forward to working closer together to bring peace and stability to Iraq," says Resident Representative of UNDP Iraq, Zena Ali Ahmad.
"We also welcome the new collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank who has generously provided funds that will allow 80,000 vulnerable residents access safe and reliable drinking water," adds Ms Ali Ahmad.

butterfly Germany and EUAM cooperate on New Iraq Projects......11th May 2021.......The two project agreements were signed on Friday in Baghdad by the German Ambassador to Iraq, Dr. Ole Diehl, and EUAM Iraq Head of Mission, Mr. Christoph Buik.
The funding from the German government will support the implementation of two important projects. The project of ''The National Database for Cultural Heritage Protection in Iraq -Phase I'' will seek to strengthen Iraqi's capabilities in the fight against organised crime and terrorism and improve cooperation between different national governmental and non-governmental organisations. The protection of cultural heritage links to both the security sector reform agenda and to improving security in Iraq.
The project "Senior Strategic Leadership and Change Management of SSR in MoI Iraq" supports the development and implementation of a professional senior strategic leadership and change management concept of security sector reform (SSR) in the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Iraq.
Mr. Buik said: "I would like to express my gratitude to the Federal Foreign Office of Germany for their generous support. With this funding, EUAM Iraq will be able to implement two important projects which will strengthen the national capabilities in Iraq" (Source: EU)

The statement added, "The meeting included discussion of many regional and international issues of common interest, bilateral cooperation and mutual support between the two countries in international forums. The two sides stressed the importance of joint coordination in a way that guarantees the common interests of both countries. "

Anwar said in an interview with / Al-Maalouma / that “the regional government carried out this procedure in order not to deliver oil to Baghdad, and it is the one who renounced the implementation of the budget agreement voted by the House of Representatives, and this is an understatement of Parliament’s decisions.”
He added that “the regional government will maintain the deduction of salaries for employees in the region, and after approving its own budget, the oil will not be delivered to the federal government at all.”

"On February 16, an Erbil criminal court convicted Sherwani and Zebari of destabilizing the security and stability of the Kurdistan region and handed down six-year sentences, in a trial marred by circumstantial and flimsy evidence and due process violations, according to CPJ reporting.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Iraq and Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) to enhance local capacities for peacebuilding in Iraq with concentration on gender mainstreaming in peacebuilding.
With a mandate to support international peace and security-related efforts, Folke Bernadotte Academy is a governmental agency based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Focused on effective peacebuilding, FBA and UNDP Iraq's new partnership aims at advancing the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 agenda on women, peace, and security, within the realm of social cohesion and the promotion of peaceful co-existence.
Through working to advance a gender perspective in community peace processes, this partnership also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of Gender Equality (Goal 5) and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (Goal 16).
UNDP Iraq's Social Cohesion Programme works with Iraqi local peace practitioners, including Community-Based Organizations and Communal Peace and Dialogue Committees, which FBA will provide training for on gender mainstreaming in dialogue processes under the year-long agreement.
According to UNDP Iraq Resident Representative Zena Ali-Ahmad:
"This new collaboration with Folke Bernadotte Academy will further strengthen our efforts for inclusive and gender sensitive peacebuilding in Iraq through our extensive work with local organizations and peace structures. The dollar's index against six other major currencies stood near its lowest level so far this week, at 90.868 , having lost about 0.4% overnight.
As the dollar is softer against most currencies, the euro outshone many others, having gained 0.5% on Thursday to trade at $1.2063 .
Against the yen, the dollar dipped to 109.05 yen , almost flat so far on the week as its rebound since late April has lost steam.
U.S. payrolls data due at 1230 GMT will likely confirm the economy's solid path to recovery from the pandemic, analysts said. Economists expect 978,000 new U.S. jobs for April, according to a Reuters poll.
Ahead of the closely-watched report, data showed on Thursday the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell below 500,000 last week for the first since the COVID-19 pandemic started more than a year ago.
Although signs of a strong job recovery could stoke inflation worries, so far most Federal Reserve policymakers have downplayed the risks of higher prices, a sign stimulus tapering will not be on agenda any time soon.
"Markets are convinced that the Fed won't make actions until the U.S. will see a full employment. That means positive environment for risk assets such as stocks," said Bart Wakabayashi, Tokyo Branch Manager of State Street.
"I often hear people say they are fine with the idea of selling the dollar. The question is becoming, what you should buy against the dollar?"
The Canadian dollar rose almost 1% overnight to a 3-1/2-year high of C$1.21455 and last stood at C$1.2157.

Both Brent and WTI are on track for a second weekly gain as easing restrictions on movement in the United States and Europe, recovering factory operations and coronavirus vaccinations pave the way for a revival in fuel demand, while pent-up summer travel is likely to give gasoline and jet fuel consumption a further boost.

The tender, floated by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, is for transporting 10,000 barrels of crude oil per day from Iraq to Jordan's Petroleum Refinery Company in Zarqa Governorate.
"Obtaining bidding documents must be before Monday, May 27th, while the deadline for bids submission is Thursday, June 3th," according to a statement by the ministry.
In the statement, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zawati, stressed the importance of implementing the MoU for activating land transport between the two countries, operating Jordan's and Iraq's truck fleets, and rehabilitating roads.
"Importing oil from Iraq is part of the ministry's plan to enhance Jordan's energy cooperation with neighboring Arab countries," she added.

The report, which focuses on 55 countries that account for 97% of humanitarian assistance, said the magnitude and severity of food crises last year worsened as a result of protracted conflicts, the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, and weather extremes that exacerbated “pre-existing fragilities.”
The 155 million people faced “crisis,” “emergency” or “catastrophe/famine” levels of food needs, an increase of around 20 million people from 2019, it said.
According to the report, two-thirds of the people in those crisis levels were in 10 countries -- Congo, Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria, Sudan, northern Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Zimbabwe and Haiti. The 133,000 facing starvation, death and destitution were in Burkina Faso, South Sudan and Yemen.
“The number of people facing acute food insecurity and requiring urgent food, nutrition and livelihoods assistance is on the rise,” U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wrote in the forward to the 307-page Global Report on Food Crises.
“There is no place for famine and starvation in the 21st century,” he said. “We need to tackle hunger and conflict together to solve either.”
Arif Husain, the World Food Program’s chief economist, said at a U.N. news conference for the release of the fifth annual report that the biggest driver of food crises is conflict, which accounted for 99 million people in 23 countries facing a food crisis last year.
“Unless we start finding political solutions to conflicts,” the number of people needing humanitarian assistance will keep increasing, he said.

Looking to 2021, the report said, “food crises are becoming increasingly protracted and the ability to recover from new adverse events is becoming more difficult.”
“Conflict, the COVID-19 pandemic, and large-scale economic crises are expected to extend food-crisis situations in 2021, necessitating continuing large-scale humanitarian assistance,” it said.
The report made forecasts based on 40 of the 55 countries, saying those for the other 15 countries weren’t available.
