The Kurdistan government has shown its willingness to resolve the existing financial disputes between the center and the region, as a Kurdish delegation will visit the capital, Baghdad, this week, to discuss the 2021 budget, and the delivery of oil imports and border crossings.

A source said, in a press statement, that a delegation headed by the Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, which includes the Ministers of Finance and Planning and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers will visit Baghdad for the sake of understanding and dialogue on the 2021 budget.

He added, "The delegation will focus on the amount of oil that will be delivered to SOMO, the revenues of the border crossings, and how to manage them."  LINK

Al-Kazemi said during the cabinet session: We reassure businessmen and investors of extortion, indicating that the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding with Arab and foreign countries depends on approving the budget for the next year 2021.

He pointed out that the current government is the first government to hold sessions with institutions not associated with a ministry, pointing out that there is a parliamentary will that has contributed to deleting some important obligations in the law on financing the fiscal deficit and borrowing.

He continued to say that the Council of Ministers voted to extinguish the debts of the Commission to other institutions and ministries, and we are working to overcome all circumstances for conducting the elections, stressing that the Electoral Commission is the first to be affected by the borrowing law for not allocating funds to it, adding that it authorized the Minister of Finance to contract with solid international companies to automate customs, ports and other sectors.

Al-Kazemi said that great corruption and exaggeration of automation contracts for customs and e-government in previous successive governments, denying the existence of any cancellation of the Sino-Iraqi agreement, the country is available as an investment for all countries wishing to invest.

And he continued: We have paid some financial obligations to secure the anti-Coronavirus vaccine, and that the Ministry of Health

The United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC), which was established to pay compensation for losses and damage as a direct result of Iraq's unlawful invasion of Kuwait in 1990, has made available $230 million to the Government of Kuwait towards the Commission's remaining claim with an outstanding award balance.

With this payment, the Commission has paid out $50 billion of the $52.4 billion in awarded compensation, leaving approximately $2.4 billion to be paid to the only claim with an outstanding award balance.

The Commission had been on track to pay the outstanding compensation award in 2021. In light of the effects of the pandemic, the Council noted that the timeline for the completion of the Compensation Commission's mandate is now expected to extend into 2022.

Then sell when it hits between 8 and 10. May go up to 16, but that would rise quick and fall like a ton of rocks. That's where the big boys play. We are not in that league. So they told me to exchange as soon as it hits that sweet spot of 8 to 10.

Baghdad – people   On Monday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi discussed with his French counterpart Jean Castex ways to strengthen joint relations between the two countries and return Iraq to its international status.

 Al-Kazemi's media office said in a statement that "People" received a copy, (October 19, 2020), that "the prime minister held his first talks on Monday morning in the French capital Paris, with his meeting with French Prime Minister Jean Castex, in the presence of a number of ministers from the two countries."

According to the statement, "during the meeting, they discussed ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and to strengthen them in the economic, investment, security and health fields."

10/19/2020 09:53  Baghdad today – Diyala  The member of Parliamentary Finance, Representative Sherwan Mirza, confirmed today, Monday (10/19-2020), that printing amounts of banknotes are linked to hard currency at the Central Bank of Iraq.

Mirza said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), "The printing of any sums of Iraqi cash is mainly related to the size of the financial cover for hard currencies at the Central Bank," noting that "any printing operation without a financial cover will lead to the collapse of the exchange rate, and thus lead To the collapse of the Iraqi dinar."

He added, "The central bank has sufficient cash reserves, and it does not need to print any additional cash notes."

"The talk that has spread recently about printing a new currency and pumping it into the Iraqi markets by the Central Bank is not correct, and it was denied in official statements by the Central Bank, which confirmed that even the exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar," he said.

Yesterday, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Naji Al-Saeedi, saw that printing currency by the Central Bank is a legal violation, and will harm the country's economic position and float the currency.

10/19/2020 09:53   Baghdad today – Diyala   The member of Parliamentary Finance, Representative Sherwan Mirza, confirmed today, Monday (10/19-2020), that printing amounts of banknotes are linked to hard currency at the Central Bank of Iraq.

Mirza said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), "The printing of any sums of Iraqi cash is mainly related to the size of the financial cover for hard currencies at the Central Bank," noting that "any printing operation without a financial cover will lead to the collapse of the exchange rate, and thus lead To the collapse of the Iraqi dinar."

He added, "The central bank has sufficient cash reserves, and it does not need to print any additional cash notes."

"The talk that has spread recently about printing a new currency and pumping it into the Iraqi markets by the Central Bank is not correct, and it was denied in official statements by the Central Bank, which confirmed that even the exchange rate of the dinar against the dollar," he said.

Yesterday, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Naji Al-Saeedi, saw that printing currency by the Central Bank is a legal violation, and will harm the country's economic position and float the currency.

October 18, 2020  The Central Bank of Iraq confirms that the statements that have spread recently regarding (reducing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar) represent the viewpoint of those who stated it and do not represent the official position of the Central Bank, and this was accompanied by a number of rumors launched by speculators, which affected the price (temporarily).

This bank declares that the exchange rate is fixed and unchanged, and that its monetary policy is clear and transparent. Note that its foreign currency reserves are "very good" according to all international indicators, in a way that enables it to overcome the current crisis that the country is going through.

This bank hopes that the media will rely exclusively on the sources of the Central Bank in this regard.

An Iraqi government white paper has warned of a possible collapse in the value of the Iraqi dinar.

According to Farhad Alaaldin, writing for Rudaw, the recently-approved white paper refers on page 37 to the danger of using the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) as a source of financing, saying that the authors believe it "will lead to severe pressure on the CBI's reserves and the resulting unsustainable future consequences."

He adds that this view was further confirmed by the group of experts writing the White Paper on page 42, who state that:

"Indirect monetary financing by the CBI is the only remaining source... The need for this reserve to finance imports of goods and services means its will drop dangerously to low levels within nine months, which will ultimately lead to a real crisis in value of the Iraqi dinar, accompanied by the possibility of a collapse in its value."

The demand to float the dinar is a big mistake, because the poor will pay the price. It is not in the interest of the Iraqi financial system to raise the exchange rate of the dollar, because it will lead to a decrease in the price of the Iraqi dinar and a decrease in purchasing power and will lead to inflation, and that the classes with limited income and salaries will be the first affected by this decision.

In a simple arithmetic process, if $ 100 = 120,000 dinars after the float, it will be = 150,000 dinars at the very least, and therefore if your salary is 600,000 dinars, its real value is 400,000 dinars. Obtaining it or the habit of buying it here leads to a significant increase in inflation, with the rest of the current problems such as facing Corona, unemployment, poor services, security challenges, and debts all lead to a complete economic collapse.

Dave   Baghdad / Obelisk: The economic expert, Salam Sumaisem, said that the government is now obliged to reduce the value of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar in order to obtain greater quantities of Iraqi money against the dollar without printing more, and thus preserving the currency from collapse.

In an interview with the “obelisk”, Sumaisem said that in the pre-2003 era, the currency was printed without cover and in large quantities, and it was reduced without a balance. Today, it can be reduced with a balance, indicating that this reduction increases the amount of exports because it pays people They import from abroad to the demand for local goods, which will lead to a devaluation of the currency and the demand for it becomes more.

Several countries resorted to writing off zeros of their currency, with the aim of restoring some confidence in the national currency by trying to absorb inflation represented by high prices and the erosion of purchasing value.

Sumaisem indicated that the time is not appropriate to manipulate zeros or the currency because its value will change, and with regard to removing zeros, this requires monetary stability and that was decided during the era of Sinan al-Shabibi administration of the Central Bank.

The economic expert called for improving the status of the dinar so that every 100 dinars would be equal to 100,000 Iraqis, and thus raising the zeros so that every 100 dollars equal to 100 Iraqi dinars, and thus the dinar would be equal to the dollar.

But Sumaisem believes that raising the zeros is not possible at the present time, due to the monetary and economic crisis that Iraq suffers from.

And deleting zeros from the currency is the process of replacing the old currency with a new one whose price is less than the old currency by the number of zeros that will be deleted, for example deleting three zeros from the Iraqi currency means that one dinar from the new currency is equivalent to 1000 dinars from the old currency.   The Iraqi
