IRAQ — WATCH THIS TIMELINE
SEPT 24: Iraq + U.S. sign agreement handing the Diplomatic Support Center at Baghdad International Airport back to Iraq.
SEPT 25: At the UN, Iraq declares its ambition to become a GLOBAL ENERGY HUB and says its relationship with strategic partners is shifting from military cooperation → economic & development cooperation.
SEPT 26: Iraq declares Sept 30–Oct 3 “SOVEREIGNTY DAYS.”
SEPT 27: Iraq advances the 2027 federal budget as the government moves toward a new budgeting system focused on performance, revenue and economic reform.
SEPT 30: Deadline for completion of the U.S.-led Coalition military withdrawal.
OCT 1: Iraq says it enters a NEW PHASE — exercising full sovereignty over its territory.
Military transition.
Sovereignty.
Economic reform.
Energy expansion.
2027 budget.
And all of it hitting within DAYS of each other. I’m watching the 2027 budget tables and the CBI very closely now. Something is clearly shifting in Iraq.
Channel 8 English: Marking the first holiday of its kind, the Iraqi Council of Ministers has declared an official public holiday across all state institutions from Wednesday, September 30, through Saturday, October 3, in celebration of the Republic of Iraq's Sovereignty Days.

Jeff When they start saying they're going to transition to international business and sovereignty the rate has to be close. It has to be. It can't be that far. I think the rate change is very very close... We want to monitor the news about them trying to get the cabinet done by Saturday October 10th...and additional news putting emphasis on them working towards getting the budget sent to parliament for approval on October 15th. If you see that, this thing is going to wrap up...
