Chattels   Baghdad / news   The strategic expert, Eric Davis, stressed that the value of the Iraqi dinar will decrease in relation to the US dollar as oil continues to decline.

"The value of the Iraqi dinar will decrease in relation to the US dollar, and the reason is that the Iraqi dinar will represent a weaker economy as oil prices continue to decline due to lower global industrial production," Davis said in a tweet on Twitter.

He added that "Iraq has 95% of its external revenues from selling oil. Iraq must diversify its economy."

chattels   Hisham Al-Suhail stresses the importance of completing the nomination of the candidate for prime minister during the current constitutional period

Tuesday 10, March 2020 https://ninanews.com/Website/News/Details?key=816620

chattels   The names currently circulating are still the same in the past / Mustafa Al-Kazemi - Asaad Al-Eidani - Ali Al-Shukri / The matter is still in circulation without reaching agreement on a specific candidate so far.

chattels   The Constitutional period of 15 days ends on or about March 17 I think.

chattels   On this day in 1945, Tokyo is in ruins following an overnight incendiary raid by American B-29s. As many as 100,000 have perished in the inferno -- more than either the Hiroshima or Nagasaki bombings. It will be remembered as history's deadliest air attack. https://twitter.com/MilHistNow

chattels   Not only will Baghdad have to borrow from the CBI's large but not infinite reserves to pay salaries & other operating expenses, it will also have to borrow to pay oil companies. No one is going to like that.

chattels   Capital expenditure, already very low, will be close to zero. Yes there is always some CapX money left over from previous years bc of administrative inefficiencies, but those inefficiencies will remain & will only be a very small portion of the vast chasm which has opened up.

chattels   & let's remember that public sector bloat is not just the legacy of decades past, but is caused by the recent actions of current actors. Thus in late 2018 parliament forced the new govt to ramp up operations spending in the budget. That was huge mistake which limits freedom of action now, since without a 2020 budget Baghdad can spend 1/12 of last year on operations, but it won't even have that money. These inflated operations costs were inflated further in recent months in response to protests.

chattels   Also, remember that Baghdad can't borrow from abroad. Foreign contracts including loans have to be approved in the budget. The 2018 budget prohibited foreign loans for new contracts, but although it has expired, a new budget would be needed to authorize new foreign loans.

chattels   The statement also confirmed security forces’ use of hunting guns and live ammunition against the protesters in Khilani Square.

“The usage of live ammunition and hunting rifles by security forces against the protesters in Khilani square has resumed,” the statement reads. “Also Molotov cocktails and marbles have been used by both sides.”

futuremoney   Iraq will never change, its very obvious

chattels   Khilani Square is several hundred meters away from Tahrir Square, which has become the thumping heart of the anti-government protests.

The overwhelmingly young crowd initially limited its demands to improvements in public services, employment opportunities, and action against corruption. However, since the bloody crackdown by security forces and pro-government militias, their demands have grown with calls for the complete overthrow of the post-2003 elite.

More than 600 people have been killed and around 18,000 injured in clashes, according to Amnesty International.

Jeff ...Friday Brent crude oil was $45 a barrel. As of this evening Brent crude dropped $10 down to $35 a barrel. Everything is moving and happening exactly as I told you it would...remember their goal is to make Iraq look worse than it is...they're doing that politically. Economically. Everything. So now ask yourself why would they have all these crappy lying articles to make the country look like it's completely upside down in terrible shape and then they have these amazing banking articles. That should raise a red flag to you. We're right on track. Nothing on my side has changed...

Jeff ...we're at the end...all the news talking about Iraq's economics. Political scene. The budget. Everything is complete pure BS...everything is waiting on the rate change including the politics...only one level of news has been accurate. That's the banking news. You guys have seen some really good banking articles through this past week..
