The Cabinet Secretariat is discussing with the World Bank an indicator to improve the business environment inside Iraq
Tuesday 07, September 2021 22:38 ..... This came while presiding over the second periodic meeting of the Diwaniyah Order Committee (52 for the year 2021) concerned with following up reforms and addressing indicators for evaluating the business environment in Iraq that the World Bank mentioned in its annual report through improving the regulatory environment for the private sector and its workers, as one of the basic items in achieving economic growth Encouraging young people to engage in the local labor market and shift towards the private sector.
The representative of the World Bank indicated, according to a statement by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, that the Bank is a key partner in supporting Iraq's aspirations; To improve the business environment and implement strategic plans and programs to achieve economic growth, in implementation of Iraq's commitment to the terms of the White Paper approved by the government earlier in this regard.
It is noteworthy that the Diwani Order Committee (52 for the year 2021) includes in its membership representatives of the relevant authorities from the Supreme Judicial Council and the state, and the ministries (Foreign Affairs, Trade, Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the Central Bank of Iraq).

NORV Zig The auctions are pretty simple. They are designed to maintain the exchange rate against the dollar and also provide dollars to pay for imports. To supply dollars for imports is easy, a vendor just goes to his bank and sells his dinars in his account to the bank for dollars.
Those dollars are then wired or given to the importer to pay for the goods. The auction side is more complicated. the dinar exchange rate is maintained by creating a balance of demand for the dinar (keeping the correct amount in circulation to balance the demand against the dollar.
When there is a shortage or excess, it creates a problem which effects the rate on the street. Therefore, the CBI works hard to provide one or the other currency as needed to maintain the value. We know this because daily we ready in the news the market rate as published.

NORV That is why the guru talk of reducing the dinar is utter nonsense. They only state that because they have no answer for the amount of dinar in circulation.
NORV And now we know since the beginning of the year and the reduction of the dinar from 1170 to 1460 the CBI has had to pump close to 40 trillion dinar additional into the market as the money supply has gone from around 42 trillion to close to 80 trillion. lol

NORV Dave Not true at all dave. You either just don't understand what they are saying or refusing to listen. The truth is, until Iraq builds a market economy/private sector, nothing is happening with the dinar. So we wait for the laws, and investment and determination from Iraq's to begin to mfg/export products.
NORV If you read the news, almost daily Iraq is screaming they are open for business. They are signing contracts, companies are coming and laws are about to be passes. So far, much is talk but encouraging non the less.

NORV Iraq has announced yesterday the exchange rate will remain the same through 2022. Which means the CBI expects the reduction in rate to 1460 to continue to stimulate the private sector.
NORV the CBI is pushing this economy forward with the reduced rate. and the white papers are the road map to create the economy. So we sit and watch and see if they succeed
NORV Based on what we know. It appears we will not see anything happen with the dinar for at least a year or more. Most likely 2-5 years And then hopefully by 2023-2025 Iraq will be a booming economy.
