Why Can't The Richest People’s Wealth Be Capped At A Certain Amount beyond which the government takes over to reduce growing inequalities?
When ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ authored by J K Rowling was released a few years ago, thousands of people stood outside the bookshops all over the world for hours to buy the book.
In the picture, we see the queues that stretch around the corner outside Waterstones in central London in the morning to buy the book[1].
No doubt the sale of books made ONE author rich, but did MILLIONS of readers not benefit also in the process?
Now, imagine that readers are told that only five of them would get the copy of the book since the total quota fixed for the sale of each writer is 100, i.e. the average books sold in the world.
Do you think, J K Rowling would have written such a book that could be sold only 100 copies or that she could get the royalty of only 100 copies?
Do you think that the people would have been happier, if only 100 people would be able to read the books written by even the best author and the rest had to read the books authored by the unknown other writers?
When poor or middle class people see the rich and successful people, they feel envy towards them since they too wished to become like them, but failed to be like them.
