Waving A Judicial Appeal .. “Food Security” Before Parliament Today

Baghdad: Ali Abdul Khaliq   The political forces opposing the draft emergency food support law gathered their forces to reject the law, which continued to range between the corridors of committees in Parliament, which burdened it with commitments and costs that amounted to 35 trillion dinars.

The coordinating framework’s deputies are currently collecting signatures to issue a resolution obligating the government to address the food security file immediately, instead of passing the “emergency support for food security and development” bill.

The representative of the coordination framework, Aref Al-Hamami, expected the Federal Supreme Court to issue a state order to stop the law in the event it is legislated by the House of Representatives, considering it a “clear constitutional violation because it contains a financial aspect that will be initiated under the caretaker government, in addition to containing many suspicions.” .

Former MP Walid Al-Sahlani warned against widening the circle of disputes if the law is passed, and it is better to work on completing a federal budget for this year instead of the proposed law.

Al-Sahlani said: “Services represent the biggest obstacle that most governments suffer from, and therefore it is necessary to create positive climates at the level of financial coverage, as well as successful administrations in accordance with the contexts of integrity and cleanliness, as this matter has become required and inevitable.”

And he indicated that "many disagreements occurred over the food security law, which is an exceptional law and has multiple views between the different forces on forming the government, which means that it falls under the category of (arms) and will be challenged."

As for the representative of the Sadiqoun bloc, which is affiliated with the coordination framework, Saad Al-Saadi, he said: “The rejection of the law expanded after the Kurdistan Democratic Party stood against its legislation.”

Al-Jabri added, "We do not want an opposition to overthrow the prime minister because of personal differences, but rather we need a constructive opposition," stressing that "any government formed by one party without the other, we will witness the movement of the public on that party."   LINK
