Tishwash: Al-Kazemi announces that Iraq will recover part of its looted money
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced that his government had succeeded in recovering part of Iraq's looted funds from abroad.
Al-Kazemi said in a speech during the launch of the events of the international conference to recover the looted funds, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that corruption and terrorism are two sides of the same coin, adding, "Corruption was present when society was plunged into sectarian fighting."
He added, "The path to a rational state begins with frankness with our people about the diseases that led to the decline of a great country like Iraq."
"We set from the beginning our main goal in fighting corruption," he said.
He pointed out that "a special anti-corruption committee has been formed, which has done its duty with the Integrity Commission, the judicial authorities, and the Ministry of Justice and Financial Control."
He noted that "the committee uncovered, within one year, corruption files that had not been revealed for 17 years, and recovered money looted from abroad."

Tishwash: Planning Minister: We will reduce external borrowing to its lowest level
The Minister of Planning, Khaled Al-Najm, confirmed that the ministry's policies and the government's directions are moving towards reducing external borrowing to its lowest levels, with the aim of reducing the burden of loans on the national economy .
The minister said while chairing an expanded meeting, which included representatives of the ministries of finance, electricity, construction, housing, municipalities, transport, water resources, agriculture, the Baghdad Municipality and the Fund for the Reconstruction of Liberated Areas, with the representative of the World Bank in Iraq, Ramzi Numan, that external borrowing will be absolutely necessary, and in only two cases, the first, is important. The project is large, and the second is the lack of cash to implement this project.
He noted that the ministry will not include or approve any project, unless it meets all the requirements, foremost of which is the feasibility study, calling on the concerned ministries that have projects funded by the World Bank loan, to expedite the completion of these projects, and to benefit from the loan funds currently available .
During the meeting, they discussed the problems and obstacles facing the implementation of projects financed by the World Bank, focusing on projects with low rates of implementation, and the reasons for delaying their completion .
The minister directed the formation of a joint committee comprising representatives of the Ministry of Planning, the World Bank and relevant authorities, to follow up on the implementation of these projects, and to develop mechanisms and proposals that contribute to the speed of completion link

Tishwash: Iraq and Saudi Arabia discuss steps to activate trade exchange through “Arar”
Today, Wednesday, Iraq and Saudi Arabia agreed to take new steps to activate the process of trade exchange at the Arar border crossing between the two countries.
The Iraqi Border Ports Authority stated, in a statement received by the "National News Center", that "the Transport and Border Ports Committee headed by the Authority's Chairman Omar Al-Waeli and his accompanying delegation held a meeting today at the Arar border port, in the presence of the Saudi ambassador in Iraq, with the Saudi side headed by the governor." He added, according to the statement, "It was agreed to open a special office to certify certificates of origin after the approval of the Ministry of Commerce and to give facilities and priority to Iraqi importers and exporters alike."
The statement pointed out, "visiting the trade exchange arena and urging its workers to speed up the handling and exchange process and complete the required requirements."
He explained that "the port administration was assigned to develop tight plans with the security services and departments operating at the port to ensure the inspection of goods and prevent the passage of any materials outside the controls."
According to the statement, the Saudi side called for "supporting the port, increasing trade and activating transit as soon as possible, and naming coordinators between the ports to complete the roads to be completed by them in a way that ensures the smooth flow of entry and exit of trucks. link
