Tishwash: The coordination framework fears the “live broadcast” and hopes that Al-Sadr will understand the “seriousness” of the matter

Shafaq News/ Various sources spoke in the comprehensive coordination framework for all Shiite political forces, except for the Sadrist movement, that they hope that the leader of the Sadrist movement will respond to the calls to sit at the dialogue table and end the crisis that the country is going through.

The sources told Shafak News Agency; "The actors in the political scene are making great efforts in order to achieve a rapprochement between the political forces and thus sit at the national dialogue table, which it is hoped that its second session will take place soon after, and it may be after the return of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi from Egypt."

She indicated that "it is expected that the United Nations representative will visit Al-Hananah again to inform Al-Sadr the appropriate responses to his requirements that he set in return for his sitting at the dialogue table," stressing that "it is not possible to implement all of Al-Sadr's conditions, especially those related to broadcasting dialogue sessions or the national meeting, especially since it is hoped that a session will be held. A second for the National Dialogue under the auspices of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

The sources continued; That "if this condition (the live broadcast) is accepted, this may be limited to the first ceremonies of the meeting only, as broadcasting the details of such meetings may contribute to fueling the street, not calming it, and from here comes the rejection of such demands, but we hope that everyone understands the consequences of that."

And she indicated that "the meeting of the leader of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Hadi Al-Amiri, with the leader of Muqtada Al-Sadr was achieved. Things will inevitably go towards the settlement, because it is not in everyone's interest that the situation remains as it is."

Tishwash:  After Parliament, the Sadrist movement's supporters stage a sit-in in front of the Judicial Council

Supporters of the Sadrist movement began, on Wednesday, a new sit-in in front of the Supreme Judicial Council in the capital, Baghdad, in addition to a sit-in that has been going on for weeks in the vicinity of Parliament.

Our correspondent said, "The protesters of the Sadrist movement have begun to erect tents in front of the Supreme Judicial Council building, to demand the resolution of the lawsuit to dissolve Parliament, which was submitted by supporters of the Sadrist movement earlier."
He added, "The security forces have taken strict security measures around the judiciary building."

Sadr's supporters raised banners calling for the dissolution of the Iraqi parliament, which is the main demand of the current, which wants to hold early parliamentary elections.
The leader of the movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, demanded a few days ago the Supreme Judicial Council to take the necessary measures to "correct the course" to solve the country's political crisis, but the council responded that its powers do not include dissolving Parliament.  link

Tishwash:  The Supreme Judiciary decides to suspend its work, the courts affiliated with it, and the Federal Court

Today, Tuesday, the Supreme Judicial Council decided to suspend its work, following the protests in front of its building, in what it described as “unconstitutional and in violation of the law.”

And the judiciary media stated in a statement received by (Al-Oula News), that “the Supreme Judicial Council and the Federal Supreme Court met in person and electronically this morning, following the open sit-in of the Sadrist movement’s demonstrators in front of the Supreme Judicial Council to demand the dissolution of the House of Representatives by pressing the Federal Supreme Court to issue a decision by the state order to dissolve the House of Representatives.” Parliament and sending threatening letters over the phone to put pressure on the court.”

The statement continued, "The meeting decided to suspend the work of the Supreme Judicial Council, the courts affiliated with it, and the Federal Supreme Court in protest against these unconstitutional and violating the law, and to hold the government and the political party behind this sit-in legally responsible for the consequences of this behavior."

 The Supreme Judicial Council and the Federal Supreme Court met in person and electronically on Tuesday morning, corresponding to 23/8/2022, following the open sit-in of the Sadrist movement’s demonstrators in front of the Supreme Judicial Council to demand the dissolution of the Council of Representatives by pressing the Federal Supreme Court to issue a decision by the Parliament’s representatives. 

To put pressure on the court, the meeting decided to suspend the work of the Supreme Judicial Council, the courts affiliated with it, and the Federal Supreme Court in protest against these unconstitutional and violating acts, and to hold the government and the political party behind this sit-in legally responsible for the consequences of this behavior.  link

Tishwash:  Al-Kazemi: The right to demonstrate is guaranteed according to the constitution, with the need to respect state institutions

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi cut short his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt on Tuesday morning and returned to Baghdad following the developments of the current events in the country and for the direct follow-up to the performance of the duties of the security forces in protecting the institutions of the judiciary and the state.

Al-Kazemi warned, according to a statement issued by his media office, that “disrupting the work of the judicial institution exposes the country to real dangers,” stressing that “the right to demonstrate is guaranteed according to the constitution, with the need to respect state institutions to continue their work in the service of the people.”

The Prime Minister called on "all political forces to calm down, and to take advantage of the national dialogue opportunity to get the country out of its current crisis," calling for "an immediate meeting of the leaders of the political forces in order to activate the national dialogue procedures and defuse the crisis."   link
