The Ministry of Justice confirmed, on Wednesday, that there are two main factors that stand in the way of recovering Iraq's money from abroad, while noting that the looted funds recovery conference will find new mechanisms to return these funds.

The Director-General of the Legal Department in the Ministry, Hanan Munther Nassif, told the official news agency, "The holding of the international conference to recover looted funds from Iraq came with wide international participation, and in implementation of the decisions of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers and in coordination with the Arab Center for Legal and Judicial Research of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers and Iraq."

She added, "The conference will work to activate the mechanisms for recovering looted funds, and to find new mechanisms to recover those funds."

She pointed out that "in practical application, we face major problems in dealing with these countries, given that these funds have become part of their economies, in addition to the difficulty of taking legal measures due to the different legal systems between countries."

And she continued, "Therefore, we are working through this international forum to work face to face, in order to discuss obstacles and find mechanisms, through international cooperation, and present the experiences of Arab and foreign countries, as well as the League of Arab States in the field of money recovery and combating corruption."

Tishwash: Iraq participates in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries

On Thursday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein arrived in Riyadh to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

 The media office of the Iraqi Foreign Minister stated in a statement that “at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; To participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council states.

 It is hoped that during the meeting, the ministers will discuss many issues that concern the region and the relations of the surrounding countries outside the council, in addition to discussing regional and international issues.

He pointed out that "the minister will shed light on the future dimensions of the Baghdad conference for cooperation and partnership, and the reflection of all of this on foreign relations and the political and security situation in Iraq, in addition to the early elections and their importance to Iraq and the region."

According to the statement, "discussions between the minister and the Arab parties participating in the meeting will focus on economic and trade relations and the role of Gulf companies in investing in the various sectors in Iraq. The minister will also discuss the issue of linking with the Gulf electrical network and supplying Iraq through it with energy."

He pointed out that the minister will meet with several ministers of the Gulf states in bilateral talks to discuss relations between Iraq and the countries concerned.    link

Al-Hamidi continued, "The use of modeling in scientific research and analysis of economic and financial conditions has become one of the main pillars adopted by economic experts to reach appropriate solutions to many economic and financial challenges of interest to officials and decision makers, as interest in and dependence on it has increased significantly in economic and financial matters, in conjunction With the development of information programs and the increase in data availability.

The Arab Monetary Fund organized this training course to serve the needs of member states, within the framework of the Arab Statistics Initiative (Arabstat), with the aim of developing the participants' capabilities in modeling and their knowledge of advanced standard methods applied to real data using specialized statistical software.

Al-Hamidi said: {Proper planning and drawing up economic policies requires the availability of comprehensive and reliable data for use in analysis, making the necessary estimates and building future economic plans. priority for them.
