So far, only this bank story to share....

 While speaking to my bank manager today from one of the top tier banks, I asked about key points at the exchange meeting. He was adamant that they would be looking for sharp, short and shiny appointments, not drawn out confused meetings. The exchange is not to discuss or bring up investments, options etc, rather to save that for the wealth manager of our choosing.

Knowledge about what we are doing is also being looked at…are we bumbling about, confused about interest rates vs exchange rates, etc? An interesting point  was about appearance….,if you go in "blinged up" in your fancy apparel, it will be assumed you are interested in appearances more than business and you will most likely not be given the best offers.

You will most likely be considered someone who "spends" it all and the money will be gone in a short period of time. He advised being neat, clean , tidy and casual.

His team has been trained to look for calm, informed, and well organized people at the exchange, with long term prospects.

 Projects seeking foreign investment must provide more information

HÀ NỘI —  The Ministry of Planning and Investment is seeking to increase foreign investment into Vietnamese projects in the 2021-25 period. To do so, the ministry recognises that more information is required when proposing projects in the future.

 Going forward, localities and local ministries that submit projects for investment must include the project name, expected scale including land area, and investment capital, as well as a full profile on the project objectives, project status, investment type, and investment scale.

The form to submit a project for investment will also include other important criteria, such as the demand for electricity and water; investment costs; and the estimated time of project implementation.

There must also be a local information overview, including variables, advantages, economic development situation, transport infrastructure, labour resources, and more specific information such as preferential policies, market analysis, investment procedures, and project implementation.

 If the proposed project meets the criteria of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the project will be opened to foreign investors. The aim is that, for the first time, Việt Nam will have a portfolio of national projects calling for foreign investment in promotion.

When the Draft List was submitted to the Government in February, Nguyễn Đình Nam, Director of Việt Nam Investment Promotion and Associates Corporation spoke with a reporter from Đầu Tư (Investment) newspaper. Nam said that although the development of the list was necessary and important, in reality, it did not help much for investment promotion.

Previously, projects that called for foreign investment only had project names. Projects on the list usually lacked too much information, he explained.

To attract investment effectively, each project needs to be accompanied by detailed documents and approved by competent authorities, with enough information for investors to refer to before making investment decisions, said Nam.

When explaining previous failures the Ministry of Planning and Investment admitted that there were problems related to specific information on each project.

The new list will overcome the shortcomings of the previous as much as possible, the Ministry of Planning and Investment emphasised.

The development of private profiles for each project is underway. If this is done well, it is expected to make a fundamental difference in investment promotion through the national project list. — VNS

Tishwash:  Muqtada al-Sadr reveals the features of his next government

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, confirmed, on Sunday, that he has no dispute with the political blocs, except for the issue of the difference between "patriotism and subordination."

 Al-Sadr said in a post followed by NRT Arabiya (October 31, 2021), "I see that the first thing that should be done in the future for the homeland is a national majority government, so in Parliament there are two sides, the loyalist side - so to speak, which forms the government and undertakes reforms in all its political, governmental, service, diplomatic and other levels at all.

 He added, "An opposition party, and they will be our brothers in the homeland, and their agreement will be a binding consultation for us, and we will not marginalize them.

This and we do not mind being on either side, both are for the sake of serving the country, all within the foundations of democracy.. From God and the people we derive strength.  link

Tishwash:  The Iraqi Finance Minister confirms his country's keenness to consolidate its relations with various countries of the world

Today, Sunday, Iraqi Finance Minister Dr. Ali Abdul Amir Allawi affirmed his country's keenness to consolidate its relations with various countries of the world.

 This came during his meeting with South Korean Ambassador Jang Kyung-wook to discuss bilateral relations.

The two sides reviewed - according to what was reported by the National Iraqi News Agency - ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries and partnership in the economic and trade fields.

For his part, the South Korean ambassador praised the escalating performance of the Iraqi economy, expressing the direction of his country's government towards raising levels of cooperation with Iraq, and the desire of Korean companies to expand their activities and partnership with Iraq in various fields, especially those related to investment and infrastructure aspects.  link
