Tishwash:  The new legislative session, “the economic cycle”, is necessary to lay the foundations for two files on which the fate of Iraq

The economy stands at the top of the expected priorities of the new parliament and the next government, which is not summarized in legislative solutions, aid, loans and financial payments to groups of people, but rather in economic establishment and reform of the entire institution, on top of which is addressing the issue of the private sector as an alternative to government employment, as well as diversifying revenues and not relying on oil only. .

Representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Majid Shankali, said in a statement followed by “Yes Iraq”, that “the coming period will work in cooperation with the government to maximize state revenues and not rely on the rentier economy and enact laws that encourage investment and support the private sector, and the working class through the retirement law Unified and Social Security.

Shankali stressed, “the necessity of determining the salaries of work in the private sector, given that there are large differences between employees and workers in the private sector in terms of salaries, which prompts everyone to search for government jobs to ensure the pension, and this constitutes a great burden on the government.”

Shankali stressed: We have disguised unemployment in state departments of up to 60%, pointing out that “Parliament will work in the next stage to build a state of strong institutions and the rule of law, through the legislation of laws, especially since there is a strong bloc that can support the new government to legislate the laws of its choice.” “.

And specialists consider that Finance Minister Ali Allawi’s warning about the possibility of laying off employees within 10 years after the collapse in demand for oil due to the shift to cars that run on electricity and other means of transportation, at a time when transportation represents 60% of oil production in the world, as a bell.

A warning to the political forces in Iraq and a warning to them to take decisive decisions in this regard, amid suggestions of action by the political blocs that intend to form the next government, as well as the presence of economists from the new emerging blocs and their economic programs that may push Parliament to legislate serious laws in this regard and the government’s work to implement all This would support the private sector, especially the Social Security Law, which will guarantee pensions to workers in the private sector, and thus the demand for government employment will gradually decrease.

In addition, investing in new sectors is one of the most important things that the government should move towards, or establish the legislative and executive authorities for it during the coming period, at least, to reduce dependence on oil  link
