Observers Of Political Affairs Reveal The Importance Of The Extraordinary Session Of Parliament Regarding The Turkish Aggression

Iraq   09:51 - 07-23-2022   Political experts considered the extraordinary session to be held by the House of Representatives today, Saturday, to discuss the Turkish bombing of the tourist resort of "Barkh" in Dohuk governorate, as part of the process of showing rejection by the legislative authority over this violation, indicating that 3 international bodies will adopt the recommendations issued by the session.

Today, Saturday, the House of Representatives will hold an extraordinary session in the presence of the Ministers of Defense and Interior to discuss the Turkish attacks on Iraq, amid calls for the necessity of responding to Turkey through diplomatic and economic means, after a request submitted by 100 deputies to Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.

The head of the Political Thinking Center, Dr. Ihsan Al-Shammari, said that "holding an extraordinary session of Parliament is to show a unified position by the parliamentary blocs, within the framework of the general system rejecting the violation of sovereignty, and denouncing that targeting and the crime that killed martyrs in a tourist resort."

He added, "This position will come out with a process of support for the government's steps in connection with filing a complaint through the UN Security Council, moving against the Arab League and other organizations, and obligating the government to remove the Turkish forces present inside Iraqi territory."

Al-Shammari indicated that "this session came as a result of great pressure from the street, which expressed its dissatisfaction and anger at the casualties and violation of sovereignty, so that Parliament finds itself moving within the framework of the general context in the country."

For his part, Professor of Political Science, Dr. Issam Al-Faili, said that "the importance of this session lies in issuing a decision that the Turkish forces should be removed from the camps they seized inside Iraqi territory."

Al-Faili said, "The secretariat of the Foreign Relations Committee in the House of Representatives must take upon itself the preparation of the list of recommendations and decisions that will be taken in the extraordinary session and their effects on Iraq and Turkey," stressing that "taking a decision to remove the Turkish forces is a real victory, and to send a copy of it to the Security Council." The United Nations and the Arab League, to prove its rejection of the occupation since 1996 until now.

He suggested, "The resolution includes a complaint to the United Nations, the Security Council and the International Court of Justice, because the Turkish bombing amounts to genocide in international laws, even though the two countries live in a state of peace and good relations."

In turn, the political analyst, Muhammad Al-Faisal, expected that "today's session will be a storm of dialogue and the options that are being presented, especially that the repetition of Turkish transgressions and aggressions has taken on dimensions of rejection and disapproval in the regional and international surroundings due to its targeting of civilians, farmers, and the personal interests of residents near the border areas."

He added, "On the other hand, it must be mentioned that the rupture and scattering of the unity of the Iraqi political position made Ankara persist in its violations of Iraqi sovereignty, and because Iraq is not in the process of responding in kind, then it is better for the deputies to go to the option of voting on a set of sanctions or legalizing the volume of cooperation and exchange Between the two countries, because Baghdad is a commercial and vital partner of Istanbul, it is difficult to abandon it."  https://kirkuktv.net/AR/Details/7686
