Tishwash: A source reveals: Five ministers in the Allawi government
An informed parliamentary source revealed, today, Friday, the expected date for Parliament to vote on the cabins of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, which was chosen on the basis of the components.
The source pointed out that "the House of Representatives will vote on the government in charge next Tuesday as a maximum," indicating at the same time that "the ministerial cabinet was completed on the basis of components, not parties, and includes five women ministers."
The source also said that "there are some views and consultation is continuing for everyone to participate in voting on the ministerial booth," noting that "the new government has outstanding issues such as the 140 regions and the Kurdistan region's share of the budget and the peshmerga and oil and gas salaries, and these are matters that can be developed between Baghdad and Erbil."
"Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi has excellent relations with the brothers in the Kurdistan region and is ready to negotiate for access only to solutions through dialogue."
The source also stated that "90 per cent of the Shiite MPs agree with the government, while about 50 percent of the Sunni representatives agreed," explaining that "the Kurdish representatives are a special case and negotiations are continuing and can produce good results." link

Jeff ...there's things happening. IMO you're seeing the last remaining variable happening in Iraq. Allawi's trying to get his cabinet done...If you look at Iraq's actions they've had demonstrations since October. They've told us that all the demonstrators demands which are reforms are inside the 2020 budget...those require the rate change before they can implement them. So what they are telling you is in order to satisfy the demonstrators demands they have to change the rate...the 2020 budget itself is married to the rate change...they cant' start the budget approval process until after the rate has changed...
Bruce ...Has Iraq come out with a new published rate yet? No they haven’t...Will they ever? YES... Last night – overnight the CBI website started some gyrations - they started to activate – they started to come alive – again – and the good news is - we understand...this coming Sunday – we should have a new published Dinar rate on the website – Now, will we see it? Here? In our banks? We have the 3-day weekend – so we will probably be more familiar with it on Tuesday... I’m very excited about what we’re seeing right now in the way of movement – we’re finally seeing it move in the right direction...and I think we can look forward to having a great weekend with President’s Day... I really believe that we’re getting just about to the finish line – we’re not quite there yet...

Don961: Conscious / The World Bank informs Iraq that its financial situation is in danger
Posted by Iraqi media news agency consciousFebruary 14, 2020
Conscious / Lamis Al-Azzawi
The World Bank has informed Iraq that its financial situation is in danger, especially with regard to salaries of state employees.
The World Bank, in its latest report on Iraq late last year, indicated that “in the absence of clear structural reforms and the slow process of re-lending, the recovery of growth in Iraq may be short-lived. This situation seems especially present if we take into account the expectations of oil markets, as prices and exports are likely to decline given the decline in global demand and doubts related to the renewal of the OPEC agreement.
The report added, "The risks persist over the medium term. As the absence of economic diversification and the lack of budget flexibility associated with the wage bill in the public sector reduces financial surpluses in Iraq, as it increases the vulnerability of the economy to external shocks. These factors also threaten to further delay lending and undermine recent positive government efforts, especially in the electricity and agricultural sectors.
Creating appropriate fiscal space for programs that promote growth will be a prerequisite for diversification and job creation, without which the large increase in oil production would mean little for most Iraqis.
The report pointed out that with the return of the displaced to their areas, there will be an increasing need to provide economic opportunities and maintain flexible social assistance in these parts of the country.
Fragility of the current socio-economic system
He stressed that “job shortages, corruption and poor service delivery remain among the most important risks to growth and financial sustainability. Iraqi youth demonstrated in demonstrations in October 2019 to demonstrate these concerns and concerns. These demonstrations revealed the fragility of the current socio-economic system.
It is expected that these social unrest will be dealt with through more short-term financial incentives - such as cash transfers, public sector employment, housing programs and others - in order to calm the anger of the protesters.
However, the results may not be satisfactory because creating jobs, genuinely fighting corruption and structural reforms will require a longer time frame. link
