Frank26 IMO the GOI has pledged to the World Trade Organization a certain parentage of the local currency (30 to 40%) of dinars at a certain value upon admission into the WTO...you think the WTO wants a certain specific percentile and figures of the Iraqi dinar currency at a restricted sanctioned program rate? ...to be in the WTO Iraq's currency needs to be tradable...

Samson: Integrity: fraud and embezzlement in the port of Umm Qasr and the Basra retirement department, with a value of 243 million

On Monday, the Integrity Commission announced the seizure of cases of fraud and embezzlement in the northern port of Umm Qasr and the Basra Retirement Department
The Commission's Investigation Department said, in a statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News", that it "managed to carry out three seizures of cases of fraud and embezzlement in the northern Umm Qasr port and the Retirement Directorate in Basra Governorate. She explained that "the work team of the Basra Investigation Directorate was able to detect fraud and embezzlement of an amount of (243,000,000) million dinars by the treasurers in the guessing unit of the General Authority for Taxes in the northern port of Umm Qasr, indicating that the process resulted in the seizure of (50) receipts and records of the consignment for that access has been tampered with
She added that "the work team carried out two separate operations in the Basra Retirement Directorate - Al-Maqal Branch. for controls. She pointed out that "in the other operation carried out in the Directorate, the original file of a deceased person was seized, after whom money was disbursed to his heirs as a "martyr of terrorism

Samson: Seizing "fake" money at a citizen's house in Wasit
2nd August, 2021
The Anti-Crime Department in Wasit announced, on Monday, the seizure of "forged" sums of money at the house of a citizen in the city of Kut.
Wasit Police Directorate stated, in a brief statement, which was received by Shafak News Agency, that "the owner of the house admitted that the seized counterfeit amounts belonged to him."
The directorate added, "The accused was intending to promote his forged money in the market, and to benefit from it inside and outside Kut." LINK

Samson: Al-Kazemi announces the launch of the economic reform plan within the white paper
2nd August, 2021
Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Reform in Iraq.
Al-Kazemi said, according to a statement by his office, "Since we launched the reform white paper to address the rampant corruption in the country and we have been working to create an appropriate atmosphere for its implementation, and our meeting today is to announce the start of implementing the administrative and executive mechanisms for the economic reform plan within the white paper."
He added, "We strongly aspire to restore the country's economy to its strength after the situation reached very low levels as a result of rampant corruption. This plan would rebuild the Iraqi economy in a sound manner that would achieve sustainable development for the country."
And Al-Kazemi continued during the meeting, "The reform plan will provide a solution to the chronic economic management crisis, which is represented by complete dependence on oil, and the lack of diversification of income sources. A comprehensive reform until it is completed within 5 years.
And he indicated that "the damage to the Iraqi economy is very great, and for this reason it is impossible to implement the reform plan in a short time, and everyone who promises to do so is delusional. Our goal is to advance the Iraqi state, not the current government. Governments go and the state remains, and for this we want with all our insistence." To restore Iraq's economic prestige."
Al-Kazemi said, "Since we took over the administration of the executive authority of Iraq, we have been working hard to implement reforms in order to get out with the least losses for all of us. The future of our children is more important than anything, they are the builders of Iraq, and they are the ones who will lead it, so let's leave our interests and think about our children."
In October 2020, Al-Kazemi launched what is known as the "white paper", which extends over 100 pages, which is a "project for a solution to the chronic economic management crisis, complete dependence on oil and the lack of diversification of sources of income." LINK
