Samson:  Iraq Files International Lawsuits To Recover The Smuggled Iraqi Antiquities

The Director General of the Antiquities and Heritage Authority at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Laith Majid Hussein revealed, on Sunday, that many lawsuits have been filed in order to recover antiquities and property that were smuggled from Iraq after 2003.

Hussein said in a statement reported by Al-Sabah newspaper and reviewed, it is reported that he was among the delegation of Iraq headed by the Minister of Culture Hassan Nazim, who held official meetings with his French and Emirati counterparts, noting that “Iraq will continue its great effort to recover the last piece of antiquities that escaped from it after the events of 2003, no Especially after winning the membership of the Intergovernmental Council for the Promotion of the Return of Cultural Property to its Country of Origin.

He added that "Iraq has previously recovered 17,000 antiquities and the last Gilgamesh wave from the United States of America, while the recovery department in the Commission is working to return all Iraqi antiquities and property located abroad."

 Hussein pointed out that "the United States is part of the countries that possess Iraqi antiquities, and there are some countries that cooperate quickly and return the antiquities to it, while there is reluctance in some of them, which calls for taking some measures and legal cases."   LINK

Samson:  During the past week, the increase in Iraq's oil exports to America

The US Energy Information Administration announced, on Sunday, that Iraq's oil exports to the United States increased during the past week.

The administration said in a report seen by Mawazine News, that "the average US imports of crude oil during the past week from nine countries amounted to 5.555 million barrels per day, an increase of 113 thousand barrels per day compared to the previous week, which amounted to 5.442 million barrels per day."

She added, "America imported crude oil from Iraq at a rate of 245,000 barrels per day during the past week, higher than the previous week, in which the average exports amounted to 42,000 barrels per day," noting that "most of America's oil revenues during the past week came from Canada, at a rate of 42,000 barrels per day." 3.572 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico, whose imports amounted to 537,000 barrels per day, followed by Saudi Arabia, whose imports amounted to 424,000 barrels per day, and Ecuador, with a quantity of 284,000 barrels per day.  LINK
