Iraq Opposes Imposing Embargo And Economic Sanctions On Russia

Money  and business   Economy News – Baghdad   On Thursday, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein said that his country, in principle, opposes imposing embargo and economic sanctions on any people, in a clear reference to Russia .

This came during his meeting with the Dutch Minister of Trade and Development Cooperation, Licia Srinemacher. During the meeting, the minister affirmed Baghdad's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation mechanisms at various levels in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly peoples, especially the activation of the Iraqi-Dutch joint committee, which will reflect on development and cooperation in the investment and investment sectors.

She indicated that the Netherlands is always ready to support Iraq at all levels. She lauded the steps taken by the Iraqi government to solve the refugee problem and return them from Belarus .

The United States and Britain decided to ban Russian oil and gas in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the European Union pledged to end its dependence on gas exports from Russia by 2030 .

"our water deficit will reach 10.8 billion cubic meters by 2035, according to studies of the Ministry of Water Resources due to the decline in the levels of the Tigris and Euphrates and evaporation in dam waters and not modernizing irrigation methods.”

Saleh considered, in his tweets, that "the Mesopotamian recovery initiative, which was put forward last year and approved by the Council of Ministers, must be activated and developed as a strategic framework for building a green economy that supports oil resources and avoiding bankruptcy in water resources, drought and its repercussions on the migration of villages, rural areas and agricultural lands."
