The Council Of Ministers Forms A Committee To Study The Consequences Of Changing The Price Of The Dollar

Time: 02/22/2021 14:36:26 Read: 5,174 times  {Baghdad: Al Furat News} The Council of Ministers decided, on Monday, to form a committee to study the consequences of changing the currency exchange rate, and to propose the required solutions as far as investment projects are concerned.

The General Secretariat of the Council stated in a statement that Al-Furat News received a copy of it, that “the committee is headed by a representative of the Ministry of Planning, and in its membership, besides the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, includes representatives from the ministries (Finance, Construction, Housing, Public Works, Municipalities, and Electricity) as well as the Authority. National Investment, the Central Bank of Iraq and the Iraqi Contractors Union.

She added, "The decision stipulates that the committee submits its recommendations within a month of work to the Council of Ministers."   LINK

The Dollar Is Dropping In Iraq Today

Time: 02/22/2021 11:02:28 Read: 17,498 times   {Baghdad: Al Furat News} The exchange rate of the dollar fell in Iraq on Monday.   The exchange rate in Baghdad reached 1458.5 dinars, or 145 thousand and 850 dinars for one hundred dollars.   Yesterday's price was at 1460 dinars to the dollar.   In Basra Governorate, the dollar also decreased to 1458.5 dinars, or 145 thousand and 850 dinars for one hundred dollars.

In Erbil, the dollar settled at 1460 dinars, or 146 thousand dinars for one hundred dollars.

The Iraqi Stock Exchange Closed Higher In The First Sessions Of The Week

Economie| 03:21 - 22/02/2021   Baghdad - Mawazine News  The Iraqi "Stock Exchange" index closed today, Monday, the first session of the week after the lifting of the comprehensive ban, up by 1.25%, and stopped at 551.2 points.

The index recorded an increase in the shares of 18 companies, and a decrease in the shares of 4 others, while 12 companies maintained their share price.

Al-Kazemi Stresses The Importance Of Expediting The Adoption Of Automation And E-Governance By All State Departments And Institutions

According to the government statement, Al-Furat News received a copy of it, at the beginning of the meeting, for a comprehensive presentation of the electronic services that the committee is working on, and the importance of its contribution to keeping pace with global development by updating government mechanisms at work, as well as facilitating citizens' transactions and the contribution of these procedures to anti-Corruption.

Al-Kazemi praised the "efforts of the workers on the project", stressing the "importance of expediting the adoption by all state departments and institutions of automation and electronic governance procedures."

"It is no longer acceptable for citizens to proceed in the same format that was adopted a century ago, and today we are in the year 2021," he added.

Political| 02:29 - 22/02/2021  Baghdad - Mawazine News, a member of Parliament, Representative Jamal Al-Muhammadawi, revealed, on Monday, a waste of public money in the Iraqi Airways Company through contracting with the United Iraqi Airport Services and Ground Handling Company (MASIL), among a group of observations in this regard.

A document issued by the office of Representative Jamal Al-Muhammadawi said that "according to the documents and information we obtained, it became clear to us that the Ministry of Transport / Iraqi Airways Company has entered into a contract with the United Iraqi Company for Airport Services and Ground Handling (MASIL) for this company to provide ground services and handling for all aircraft Newcomer to Baghdad International Airport, including Iraqi Airways planes.

Al-Muhammadawi added, according to the document, "According to the contract, the share of the United Iraqi Company (Maciel) of the profits is (70%), while the share of Iraqi Airways is (30%)."

"Iraqi Airways has a division specialized in providing ground services and handling for aircraft in the name of (Aircraft Ground Services Division), and it has specialized staff and equipment to accomplish the work assigned to it, and it has achieved monthly profits estimated at (4 million dollars), in addition to the profits estimated in millions of dollars that it obtained through Supplying the incoming foreign plane with fuel at the international price, taking advantage of the subsidized fuel price difference provided by the Ministry of Oil / Oil Products Distribution Company to the airlines company, as it is a government company.

He pointed out that "the United Iraqi Company (Maciel) is currently using specialized equipment for the airline company whose staff is seconded to work in this company, meaning that the company did not invest any sums in this contract."

He explained that "it was found that this contract will enrich the company (Maciel) at the expense of the state treasury, as it takes from the profits made by the Iraqi Airways company using state-owned equipment."

He stressed that "the procedure taken by the Ministry of Transport / Airlines by signing and directing such a contract is considered a waste of public money, and the Ministry of Transport and the management of the airline company bear full responsibility for that."

Al-Muhammadawi called on "the Oil Products Distribution Company to stop supplying the United Iraqi Company (MASIL) with fuel at the subsidized price, and to supply only Iraqi Airways aircraft." Ended 29 / A

Today ... The Central Bank’s Hard Currency Sales Increased

Economie| 12:02 - 02/22/2021   BAGHDAD - Mawazine News   The Central Bank of Iraq’s hard currency sales rose by 100 percent, to $ 81 million.

The daily bulletin issued by the Central Bank of the currency auction, which was reviewed by Mawazine News, stated that "the bank witnessed during its auction today the sale and purchase of foreign currencies a rise in sales by 100.86 percent, from last week, to reach 81 million 698 thousand dollars."

The daily bulletin revealed, "The bank's coverage of dollar sales at a basic exchange rate of 1460 dinars per dollar."

And she added, "The purchases amounting to 81 million 698 thousand dollars, went to strengthen the assets abroad in the form of transfers and appropriations, while the banks did not buy any dollar in cash."

She pointed out that "18 banks have met the requests to enhance assets abroad."
