Saleh said that Al-Kazemi's government is currently working on preparing a new tax bill to be more fair and define those covered by it.

The economic advisor to the Prime Minister said that taxes are an important resource for the state, and Iraq is the least tax collecting country in the world, and it reaches between 1-2 percent.

Saleh called for the need for tax justice, as it is an important matter.

He added that the government is in light of the legislation of a new tax law at the technical level, and if it is completed, the law will go to the State Consultative Council, then it will be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval, after which it will go to Parliament.

He pointed out that the file needs time, especially with the circumstances of the elections and the lack of time for the current parliament.

He added that the tax should not be arbitrary, but rather a simple contribution that encourages people to pay and not evade it, and it should be reasonable and have a wide area, and there should be exemptions, especially for the poor, which means it should be fair.

He resumed saying that tax procedures must be simplified and covered in large areas, as the taxpayer considers it a national duty and not a social burden.

He concluded his speech by saying that the culture of taxes in Iraq is incorrect, and taxes are supposed to go to meet needs within the community, so there must be tax justice and it must be taken from the sources covered by it.   Obelisk   https://almasalah.com/ar/news/214761/مظهر-صالح-الموازنة-التكميلية-تتعثر-والعراق-أقل-دول-العالم-تحصيلا-للضرائب
