Don961:   Iran's Bank Melli branch burnt amid angry protests

Saturday، 16 November 2019 04:30 PM

Iranian protests against fuel price hikes escalated for the second day, on Saturday. A brach of Bank Melli of Iran was burnt.

This coincided with demands to oust the supreme leader and stop Tehran's interference in the affairs of Arab states, Sky News reported.

In Behbahan, southwestern Iran, protesters set fire to the bank branch, while demonstrators in the central city of Karaj demanded the Khamenei's regime step down.

Demonstrators in several Iranian cities chanted slogans rejecting the interference of their country in the affairs of Arab countries, and demanded to improve their living conditions, according to sources in the Iranian opposition.

The sources said on Saturday that the Iranian authorities cut off Internet access to the regions of Ahvaz southwest of Iran, amid protests against the Iranian regime.  LINK

Samson:  The BRICS countries are aware of the possibility of cutting Swift

14th November, 2019
Plans to Moscow, Beijing and New Delhi, members of the "BRICS", to launch a financial settlement system is an alternative to the global financial network of secure communications between the institutions "Swift", as quoted by the "Economic Times". The system will contribute to the promotion of inter-state trade, facilitating financial transactions and stimulating payments in national currencies in foreign trade.

Over the past two years, Russia has been working to reduce its dependence on the dollar, and is continuing to reduce the share of the US currency in its international reserves, and increased the share of gold, the yuan and the euro in reserves and trade at the expense of the dollar.  It also established its own financial system for financial communications SPFS, in response to the possible separation of Russian banks from the system "Swift".

Founded in 2006, the BRICS Group is an acronym for the initials in English of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The bloc is the fastest growing economy in the world, and the BRICS countries contribute about 22% of the world GDP and occupy about 26% of the land area in the world.  LINK

Samson:  25 Relatives of Baghdadi arrested in Turkey

16:40 - 16/11/2019

Turkish authorities announced on Saturday the arrest of 25 relatives of the former leader of the "Daesh", Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in a security operation in four different states in the country.

In a statement, the State Prosecutor's Office of Karshehir stated that security forces arrested 11 suspects in the state, 5 in Samsun, 3 in Ordu and 6 in ليanlıurfa as part of ongoing investigations into IS activities. Four of Baghdadi's relatives were remanded in custody by the Turkish Penitentiary Magistrate's Court in Karshehir on charges of belonging to ISIS.

The statement pointed out that the Directorate of Security Karshaheer interrogated the detainees and referred them to the Magistrate's Court, which decided to imprison four of them pending investigation, on charges of "belonging to a terrorist organization." The rest of the 21 suspects, including two children, were handed over by the Directorate of Security to Qarshir province to be sent to a deportation center.

US President Donald Trump announced on 27 October that the leader of the international terrorist organization Daesh was killed in a "bold" operation by US special forces in the province of Idlib in northwestern Syria, noting that Baghdadi committed suicide while trying to flee US military personnel passed through a tunnel under his hideout, where he ended his life and three of his children by detonating an explosive belt.

Trump, in a speech on the occasion, thanked Russia, Iraq, Syria and Turkey for their contribution to the implementation of this process, saying that the Russian side opened airspace over its territory in Syria to US aviation. On November 6, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that security forces in his country had arrested Baghdadi's wife, sister and brother-in-law.  LINK

Kaperoni   In order for the dinar to appreciate in value the CBI needs a reason to raise the value.  That reason is an increase in GDP, and inflationary pressure created from significant investment capital.  Only then will the CBI move off the peg and allow the dinar to rise via a float.

Bruce  [via WiserNow]   ...Now, you know we can’t call it  and we’re not going to do that but I am very positive about what I received today and the sources that I got it from  are very very strong - so we feel good about this...I just think we are finally at the point where all the currencies have been migrated - from the back screen and front screens – rates are solid... so  I think we are finally  at the precipice where we are ready to make that leap...So, I want to say guys that we are pretty much from what I can tell and from what I’m hearing and what I am expecting at the end of this incredible journey...

RVAlready :   I see this driven to quick conclusion by at least 3 drivers: Iraq protestors need an RV, imminent implosion of fed fiat money system, and possible implosion of derivatives market. We shall see what the future brings. Hopefully, an RV - and soon.

Rick123:  Bank teller charged in home invasion of a customer who'd made a large withdrawal, authorities say

By Ralph Ellis and Rebekah Riess, CNN   Updated 7:10 PM ET, Thu November 14, 2019

(CNN)A bank teller has been charged in connection with a home invasion at the residence of a customer who'd made a large withdrawal of money, authorities in Maryland said.

A 78-year-old man told investigators he answered his door around 8:30 p.m. Monday and an unknown male forced his way inside, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. The intruder assaulted the man until a relative, a 57-year-old woman, intervened, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect ran upstairs and the woman called police from a nearby home. When sheriff's deputies arrived, the intruder had fled and was not found during a neighborhood search with the K-9 unit, the sheriff's office said.

"As the investigation continued, it was determined one of the victims had removed a large amount of money from the bank," the news release said. "Detectives gained information identifying a teller at the bank as the suspect."

Nathan Michael Newell, 19, of Bel Air, was arrested Wednesday at the bank, the sheriff's office said.

He has been charged with robbery, first- and third-degree burglary, first- and second-degree assault and home invasion, the news release said.

Newell was being held at the county detention center without bond. The public defender's office said Thursday he will be assigned representation.

Both residents suffered injuries. The woman was treated at the scene and the man was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said.

Michael MacPherson, president and CEO of Freedom Federal Credit Union, confirmed Newell was an employee of the credit union.

Newell was fired, he said, adding vetting procedures while hiring Newell met all standards. Search of online databases showed he faced two traffic cases.

"We are shocked and appalled to hear of the events that led to the assault and injury of a longtime member of our credit union," MacPherson said in a statement. "Our thoughts go out to him, and his family, during this difficult time."
