Suha Al-Najjar: 70 Projects Have Returned To The State And We Are Working To Change The Investment Law

Al-Najjar said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency, and followed by (Al-Mada), that "it is no secret to everyone that the investment process was not successful in Iraq, where the investment projects were limited and not in the quantity that we aspire to," noting that "the defect in this matter is related to the investment law and corruption."

And she added: "Since we took the position and for a period not exceeding a year and a quarter, it is difficult to change the investment situation in this short period, but we laid a strong foundation and worked to fight corruption," pointing out that "the fight against corruption was achieved by achieving important goals, the first of which is stopping the granting of land and the withdrawal of licenses." It is one of the lagging projects, and this matter was not easy due to the legal procedures, but the authority was able to return 70 projects to the state.”

And she added, "The authority was also able to reduce customs exemptions by 80% in the year 2021, as well as for the features.
