Iraq And The World Bank Discuss Participation In Development And Economic Projects To Achieve Economic Growth

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Abbas Kazem Obaid, met at the ministry's headquarters, the Special Representative of the World Bank in Iraq, Ramzi Numan. During the meeting, the roles and tasks of the World Bank and participation in development and economic projects in cooperation with the Iraqi government were discussed, to achieve Economic growth.

The Head of the Organizations Department stressed the importance of studies and consultations provided by the World Bank, as well as capacity-building and technical cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals, especially with regard to environmental rehabilitation projects, reconstruction of liberated cities, and economic reform.

International Development Bank Opens A Branch In The UAE

Banks  Economy News – Baghdad   The International Development Bank announced that it had obtained a license from the UAE Central Bank to open a branch in Dubai.

The bank said in a press statement, "The International Development Bank obtained a license from the UAE Central Bank to open a regional branch in the Emirate of Dubai and under the umbrella of the Central Bank of Iraq, which is the first private bank in the United Arab Emirates to be a center and a starting point for strengthening joint cooperation between the two countries and stimulating financial and commercial exchange." Within A Week.. 20 Billion Dinars, The Volume Of Trading In The Iraqi Stock Exchange

Economie| 09:54 - 14/01/2022   Baghdad - Mawazine News, the volume of trading in the Iraqi Stock Exchange this week reached six billion shares, worth 20 billion dinars.

The market said in a statement, received by / Mawazine News / today, Friday, that it organized five trading sessions this week, and during the first session, the market trading index closed at (563.03) points, while the index closed at the end of the week at (559.33) points, achieving a decrease of ( 0.66%) from its closing in the first session.

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Ihsan Shamran Al-Yasiri, said in an interview with the official agency, that "the Central Bank encourages many banks to reduce interest rates and expand them to provide banking services and include all beneficiaries."

He added that "the Central Bank urges banks to reduce the gap between the benefits of borrowing and lending," noting that "some banks grant interest with high loans and few benefits to depositors, and this depends on the extent of the risks and the feasibility of borrowing. The comparison is made with between accepting the deposit, because the bank cannot grant high returns. For investors, because he may have borrowed money and seeks to achieve between the interest he achieves for the customer and the cost of the money he has obtained in order to lend it.

Al-Shammari indicated that "all these matters do not apply to the initiative of the Central Bank, because the initiative is for housing loans and they are without interest, but with a single administrative commission," explaining that "loans on other projects, whether agricultural, industrial or commercial, have very low and diminishing interests." And the selling prices of the dollar were recorded at 148.250 dinars per 100 dollars, while the purchase prices of the dollar were 148,000 dinars per 100 dollars.

Oil Prices Fell Due To US Moves To Curb The Rise In Crude

Economie| 09:24 - 14/01/2022   Follow-up - MAZNEWS -  Oil prices recorded, on Friday, a noticeable decline for the second consecutive session, affected by expectations that Washington may move soon to curb prices that are still above $80 a barrel.

Brent crude futures fell six cents, to $84.41 a barrel.

US West Texas Intermediate crude contracts also fell 21 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $81.91 a barrel.

China, the world's second largest oil consumer, suspended some international flights, and intensified efforts to curb the spread of the virus in Tianjin Province, while the mutated Omicron strain of the Corona virus spread in the northeastern city of Dalian.
