The participants stressed, according to the statement, "the need to enhance security and stability in the country, enhance civil and societal peace, unite ranks, dialogue and convergence, protect the democratic path, adhere to legal and constitutional contexts, and consolidate efforts to meet the aspirations of citizens and improve living and service conditions."

The meeting pointed to “the necessity of resolving electoral complaints and appeals in accordance with the law and considering this as a basis in addressing issues related to elections, with an emphasis on the highest degree of care, professionalism and impartiality in resolving them, in a manner that enhances confidence in the electoral process and that the election outcomes are legal and constitutional.”

The participants deliberated on an initiative to be presented to the national forces based on a document that includes basic principles for resolving the current crisis and moving towards the national benefits that await the country, by forming an effective government that protects the higher interests of the country, responds to national challenges and entitlements, meets the free and dignified life of citizens and promotes economic and social development, according to the text of the statement.   LINK

Baghdad / NINA / - The members of the Iraq Economic Contact Group expressed their satisfaction with the continuation of the dialogue with the Government of Iraq, and congratulated it, along with the Iraqi people, on the parliamentary elections that took place on October 10, 2021.

It stated in a statement: The reports of the independent observers encourage the members of the Iraq Economic Contact Group, which It states that the electoral process has witnessed a remarkable technical and procedural improvement compared to the previous elections in Iraq.

The Iraq Economic Liaison Group called on all parties to resolve any disputes related to the elections that may arise peacefully through the existing legal channels.

The group hopes for the rapid formation of a government that maintains the priority of economic reform, and addresses the structural challenges facing Iraq.
