A Parliamentary Source Reveals The Date For The Resumption Of Regular Parliament Sessions
Time: 08/06/2020 13:01:47 Read: 2,951 times {Baghdad: Al Furat News} A parliamentary source revealed the date for the resumption of the parliament’s sessions, which were suspended due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic and the recording of injuries among members and employees of the Council.
The source said to {Euphrates News}, that "the meetings of the House of Representatives will be resumed on the third of the month of September next regularly, and there may be before that one or two emergency sessions regarding the completion of the election law and resolving the dispute over the electoral districts."
It is noteworthy that the work of Parliament has been suspended for months, except with the exception of limited sessions, including the vote on the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi on May 7, due to the registration of dozens of infections with the Corona virus between deputies and employees.
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives recorded the first death among its members of the pandemic to the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee Ghaida Kambash on July 10, due to her infection with the virus.

And the convening of the parliament’s sessions, at least in the next few weeks, became an urgent necessity to resolve the dispute over the electoral districts in the election law, especially after Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi decided the date and early elections for the sixth of June 2021 to throw that ball into the parliament. Iraq Is Back On The "Right Track" With 8 Indicators
Time:08/06/2020 15:40:06 Read: 2,977 times {International: Al Furat News} A report for the Wall Street Journal said that Iraq has finally started to return to the right path, even though it is going through an unenviable situation at the present time as a result of the Corona pandemic and the struggle of regional and international wills within its territories.
The report monitored several indicators reported by the American "Brookings" Institute confirming that progress has been achieved in many ways in the country from 2003 until today.
First: The country's population has risen from about 25 million in the last years of the rule of former President Saddam Hussein to 40 million today.
According to the newspaper, this in itself is neither good nor bad, but it means that Iraq is big enough to be an important player in Middle East politics.
Second: Per capita GDP increased to nearly six thousand dollars, compared to less than four thousand two decades ago.
The newspaper report indicates that there is still a lot of poverty in Iraq, corruption is rampant, and the prospects for work for Iraqi youth are modest, but nevertheless, there have been positive economic developments.
Third: Oil production increased from about 2.5 million barrels per day in the last years of Saddam’s rule to about 4.5 million barrels now, and export revenues from oil have tripled on average since 2002.
Fourth: The annual rate of internal displacement has fallen by more than half since the defeat of ISIS ISIS.

The "Wall Street Journal" report concludes, however, that there is still a long way to go for Iraq to achieve the desired political and economic stability, in light of the popular protests that erupted last year, high indicators of corruption and a decline in press freedom.
The protests began on the first of last October and lasted for several months, during which hundreds of thousands of Iraqis demanded jobs, services and the departure of the ruling elite, which they said was corrupt.
The protests caused the resignation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, who was replaced in May by Mustafa al-Kazemi, the former head of the intelligence service.
Iraq, which relies on oil exports to get most of its revenues, suffers from corruption and mismanagement for many years, and ranked No. 161 out of 168 countries in Transparency International's annual report on corruption for 2015.

Iraq Resumes Exporting Asphalt Products To The Emirates
Energy Economy News _ Baghdad The General Company for Mining Industries, a company of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, announced Thursday the export of its asphalt products to the United Arab Emirates.
The company’s general manager, Adnan Al-Ghannam, said in a statement, “Economy News” received a copy of it.
Al-Ghannam added, “The Asphalt Products Factory in Diyala Governorate was officially opened in the middle of last June and is the first of its kind in the province. It was established under the partnership contract concluded between the General Company for Mining and the North Fayhaa Company, as it specializes in the production of three asphalt products, including Prime Coats of all kinds.
Cat Buck and its various types and asphalt with a total capacity of (80) thousand tons / year, stressing that the company is proceeding with its plan to establish factories for the production of asphalt paints in various governorates of the country in partnership with the private sector.
For his part, Deputy Director General Majid Hameed Ghadhayeb stated that this meal is considered the first export meal from the asphalt products factory in Diyala governorate to the United Arab Emirates.
