An informed political source revealed, on Saturday, that Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi had reached a preliminary agreement with Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to pass the ministerial team.
The source said that "Allawi met with Al-Halbousi during the past hours, where the latter presented 3 personalities to the assumption of 3 ministries in the Allawi government," noting that "Allawi agreed to this request."
The source added, "Allawi has allocated 7 ministries to the Sunni component, 3 of which will be nominated by Al-Halbousi, and 4 of them will be chosen by Allawi himself," stressing that "Al-Halbousi persuaded his deputies to vote tomorrow to pass the ministerial team."
The deputy of the Alliance of Raiders Riyad Al-Masoudi revealed in a previous statement the launch of a round of talks between Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi and the political blocs rejecting him, noting that the last hours talks will pass the Allawi government.
