Reuters: Dozens of U.S. oil workers leaving Iraq after air strike (1/3/20)
BASRA, Iraq (Reuters) - Dozens of U.S. citizens working for foreign oil companies in the southern Iraqi oil city of Basra were leaving the country on Friday, the Oil Ministry said, after a U.S. air strike killed a top Iranian commander in Iraq.

The U.S. embassy in Baghdad urged all its citizens to leave Iraq immediately, hours after the U.S. killed Iranian Quds Force leader Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
Iraqi officials said the evacuation would not affect operations, production or exports.
Company sources told Reuters earlier the workers were expected to fly out of the country.
Oil production in Iraq, the second-biggest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, was about 4.62 million barrels per day (bpd), according to a Reuters survey of OPEC output.
A spokesman for BP (BP.L), which operates the giant Rumaila oil field near Basra, declined to comment. Rumaila produced around 1.5 million bpd as recently as April.
Italian energy group Eni (ENI.MI) said Iraq’s Zubair oil field, which produced around 34,000 bpd net to Eni last year - a fraction of the field’s overall output - was “proceeding regularly”. Eni said the group was closely monitoring the situation in Iraq.
Genel (GENL.L), an oil producer in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in northern Iraq, said its operations were continuing normally. It did not comment on any staff movements.
Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP.L), which also operates in Kurdistan, said “while these events are taking place in the south of Iraq, Gulf Keystone is closely monitoring the situation and operations at (the) Shaikan (field) are carrying on as per usual”.

Breitling ...I have zero doubts on the currency revaluing...This is the most important information you're gonna get...when you exchange your currency you're gonna get taxed. That's a taxable event. You are gonna have a big chunk taken out right there.
Next, you're gonna go buy a house, that's a taxable event. You're gonna go out and buy a nice car. That's a taxable event...that's what I've been worried about. It's going to go away from you so quick unless you know what you're doing and have a plan and you have a plan to avoid that. You did what you needed to do.
You bought the dinar. The second thing you need to do is keep it. There is nothing else you need to do. This is coming down the road.
There's no other way I can say it. It's right in front of you. You're looking at it. Are you prepared? [NOTE: Speak with your financial advisor and tax expert at the appropriate time.]

MilitiaMan: I cannot for the life of me understand with all we know and can see directly from the CBI and the Actions of the USA anyone can be down and out now.. Mind boggling good information that supports this is coming to an end!! imo ~ SMH ~ MM
HoosierGirl: Frankly (no pun intended LOL) I am not down or frustrated. I'm excited! Not just about the RI/RV but I'm excited to see more of the evil ones removed from their position of power (one way or another) and freeing up the people of the Middle East AND Americans and Military who have to be exposed to that evil.
I'm excited for the overall events taking place around the world - people demonstrating for FREEDOM - it's still the greatest thing that ALL people want!
God Bless Them and may they be successful!!!
YES! I'm excited about the RI/RV that it is about to happen on whatever date has been determined.
Seems like sooo much is happening, that may look like a hindrance, but is instead a catalyst for this to happen. I feel more positive in the midst of the chaos in Iraq than I have ever been over the coming blessing!!! I'm so thankful!!!
