In a statement received by Mawazine News, the authority stated, "The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, participated in a dialogue seminar held by the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce for traders of gold, jewelry and precious metals, in the presence of the President of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, Firas Al-Hamdani, representatives of the relevant ministries and a number of gold dealers and importers." She added, "Al-Waeli gave a detailed presentation on the paragraphs of Cabinet Resolution No. 335 of 2017 on the import and export controls of gold, and expressed his full readiness to support importers and encourage them to practice their trade through the federal ports represented by Baghdad and Najaf International Airports."

A Proposal To Change The Working Mechanism Of Industrial Public Companies

The government seeks, according to the terms of the white reform paper that it proposed with the aim of reviving the national economy, to develop industrial cities and free zones in Iraq, and to achieve an actual increase in the contribution of the private sector to economic activity by activating the private sector support fund, simplifying procedures and providing job opportunities. in this sector, as well as supporting small and medium enterprises.

Improve The Performance

Al-Jawahiri stressed that “changing the mechanism of work of the boards of directors of public companies can improve the performance of these companies, in a way that leads to doubling productivity and achieving greater profitability,” calling at the same time “the need for the new mechanisms to include the participation of a sectoral representative of private activity as a member.” In those companies, according to activity, with a move to change the principle of separation between management and ownership.”
