Resounding News ... Dismantling A Pension Fraud Network That Steals 30 Billion Dinars A Month !!

Time: 11/22/2020 15:18:03 Read: 5,850 times   (Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Ministry of Interior revealed that its intelligence agency had infiltrated and dismantled a network of fraud in the General Retirement Authority after fraud and fraud crimes that cost the state more than thirty billion dinars per month, paying pensions to those who are not entitled to it.

According to a statement by the ministry, the Euphrates News Agency received a copy of it, "with personal follow-up and direct supervision by Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi, the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency at the Ministry of Interior, and with judicial approvals and follow-ups, managed to penetrate and dismantle a fraud network in the Pension Authority consisting of 29 accused (employees and suspects) The General Retirement Authority is engaged in fraud and deception on the law, which is summarized by issuing retirement IDs for citizens and granting them salaries of up to {8 million dinars} and large financial differences that reach an average of {260 million dinars} without legal entitlement.

He added, "As a result, a working group was formed in the intelligence agency that was able to penetrate the fraud network and document its criminal operations with audio and video images and the personalities that manage these operations."   The statement pointed out that "the criminal network will be referred to the judiciary to receive their fair penalty."    LINK

Parliamentary Finance Diagnoses The Cause Of Corruption In The Currency Auction And Identifies A Proposal To Eliminate It

Time: 11/22/2020 14:57:36 Read: 3,523 times   {Baghdad “Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee diagnosed, on Sunday, the cause of corruption in the currency auction, while it submitted a proposal to eliminate it.

"There are solutions to reduce corruption and not to end corruption, and there are treatments that can be invested in the interest of the Iraqi currency," said a member of the committee, Ahmed Al-Hajj, in an interview with Al-Furat News.

He added that "the issue of selling the dollar by the central bank is supposed to take place by the Ministry of Finance as it is the owner of the money from oil sales and others."

He pointed out that "the existence of competition between remittance companies and banks and the distribution of which led to the currency auction being a window for corruption, and if we dealt with this issue, it will lead to the elimination of 60 percent of the corruption in the sale of currency."

He explained that "among the treatments is the classification of private banks and linking the currency auction to the General Authority of Customs and the Registrar of Companies and Taxes, and thus we can eliminate 80 percent of corruption."    LINK

The Central Bank Allocates (5) Trillions To Finance Industrial, Commercial And Agricultural Projects

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Al-Ghazi, said in a statement received by {Al Furat News} that the Council of Ministers decided to allocate an amount of 5 trillions to finance industrial, commercial and agricultural projects, and added, "The initiative will revive the Iraqi economy and encourage local investment."  LINK

The Finance Committee Discusses Five Laws Included In Its Agenda

11/22/2020  On Sunday 11/22/2020, the Financial Committee chaired by Deputy Dr. Haitham Al-Jubouri attended a meeting in which it discussed five laws included in its agenda.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Finance Committee, the committee discussed the proposed law of the first amendment of the Iraqi Accreditation Authority Law No. (78) for the year 2017, in order to disengage the authority from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, for its enjoyment of moral personality and financial and administrative independence.

The Finance Committee reviewed the report prepared by the committee’s advisor regarding the proposed law, as the interventions of the women and gentlemen focused on the need to make amendments to its paragraphs, and then the committee decided to submit it for the first reading in the upcoming sessions of the House of Representatives.

Then the Finance Committee discussed the Law of the First Amendment to the Law of the Fund for Supporting Internal Sections in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Haitham Al-Jubouri, directed to address the Ministry of Finance and take its opinion regarding the existence of a financial aspect in the law.

The committee also discussed the proposed law of the Fund for Supporting Low-Income Families, submitted by Representative Seham Al-Aqili, in affirmation of the principles stipulated in the constitution to provide the right to a decent life for citizens without discrimination, and to alleviate the suffering of poor and low-income Iraqi families.

In the same regard, the face of Dr. Al-Jubouri inquired to the Ministry of Oil regarding the mechanism for disbursing the amounts of social benefits, the mechanism for their distribution, and the amount allocated from them for projects in the provinces. Al-Jubouri asked the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to clarify their role regarding these sums and allocate them to eligible citizens.

In continuation of what is included in the agenda, the committee discussed the proposed law to cancel the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council Decision No. (218) for the year 2002 in order to lift the unfairness of the employee who spent years of his life in compulsory service and the movements judged according to the laws of military service and consider that service for the purposes of bonus, promotion and retirement.

After that, the committee discussed the draft law on financing the expenditures of the House of Representatives elections to enable the Independent High Electoral Commission to prepare for its conduct on its appointed time, as the Finance Committee decided to approve the government to finance these expenditures in accordance with the reasons for the law on financing the deficit.

In conclusion, the Finance Committee stressed the need for the government to send the draft Federal Budget Law for 2021, for the purpose of approving it as soon as possible.

In The Document .. Financial Cancels All Customs Exemptions And Exceptions For These Entities Exclusively

Deputy Director General Abdul Sattar Hashem Ali said in the document issued by him, and "Al Furat News" received a copy of it: "Abolishing all customs and tax exemptions and exemptions granted to countries and government institutions."   LINK
